We all get bored sometimes. This post is inspired by boredom and produced through boredom. Heh… If there’s a human being who says they’re never bored then they’re too busy to be bored. Yeah…. it happens from time to time with me so its not a myth. But currently I’m just plain bored to the core about some things.
“Boredom: the desire for desires.” Leo Tolsoy in Anna Karenina
There are so many things inspired by boredom and I found one which I can concur that the creator was certainly bored and craving for enlightenment, inspiration, entertainment, etc.
“Perhaps the world’s second worst crime is boredom. The first is being a bore.” Sir Cecil Beaton
One would like to have anything to lift the sense of boredom. But there are some ppl who are really bores. Or maybe I just don’t click with them. Boredom is certainly a crime coz one’s mind idle and “an idle is the devil’s workshop“. As for me the devil need not work hard since my mind is devilish enough. LOL…
“Boredom is like a pitiless zooming in on the epidermis of time. Every instant is dilated and magnified like the pores of the face.” Charlotte Whitton
We all know how to say “I’m bored!” in at least one language. The bored look on one’s face counts. Heh! Or the mere fact that some of us doze off to sleep during lectures and classes also counts.
“Boredom is just the reverse side of fascination: both depend on being outside rather than inside a situation, and one leads to the other.” Susan Sontag on photography.
Anyway, I hope to be able to be less bored in the near future. The thing about this Lizard is that weird, random and nonsensical thoughts and ideas will then spring to mind. Oh well… Its better than being bored! Right?
“Probably the difference between man and the monkeys is that the monkeys are merely bored, while man has boredom plus imagination.” Lin Yutang

“The life of the creative man is lead, directed and controlled by boredom. Avoiding boredom is one of our most important purposes.” Saul Steinberg
