10 honest things about me

It was early in the New Year of 2010 when I was happily surfing the net and read a post on MKL’s blog who had my name posted there except there being a small spelling mistake. I know that my name is hard to spell or rather tedious to type and atypically is misspelt but I’m not complaining. I’m the only dual coloured lizard on the net. Muahaha…

Ok… Back to the post. I am not one to always do tag posts and the thing about me is that I don’t pass it on so it stops with me. Heh… Sorry, MKL. ;) But there is an open invitation for anyone to my readers who wish to do this tag. So here’s 10 truckloads of honesty about the special PINK-N-PURPLE-LIZARD!

~~~~ 10 Honest things about me ~~~~
#1 - I have fallen down stairways and staircases in many fashions. Be it stairs which are tiled, concrete, wooden or metal; or spiral staircases, single flights and multiple flights; sideways, backward and front-on, I have graced all of them. These were all accidents of course without any lasting injuries. The most memorable fall was on Christmas Day some years back where I slid down a metal spiral staircase. Ended up with bruises which looked like tiger stripes. :(
#2 - I’m allergic to certain foods. I have food allergies to certain Chinese herbs and the damned Pineapple. If anyone wants to know what happens when I consume these foods, be ready to pay for my hospital bill and get the shock of your life. Plus if I die as a result from it, you’re to explain to my friends, family and police; and bear the funeral expenses. :P Yes… It can be that severe.
#3 - When I drive, I talk to the drivers of the other cars and pedestrians. O_O How? I say things like “Can u just keep to your lane already?!” and “All that modification with the loud Vroom Vroom noise and you cant even beat me.” (This is when I get challenged). ;)
#4 - I love driving around. I like to take long drives and take-in the sights. It helps clear my mind and makes me happy. Plus the petrol is still subsidised so I can burn the government’s money since I don’t pay taxes (under the minimum bracket). Muahahaha!
#5 - I was never the top niche student. I never failed anything despite my lack of studying but never really made it to the top creme de la creme. I’m not a studious person either. Heh~
#6 - I can be quite a lazy creature who loves to just sleep and laze around. Hehehe….
#7 - I prefer Cats to Dogs. Cats are more independent and can be as affectionate as dogs. They’re also more amusing than dogs. I don’t mind dogs as well but I really dislike small dogs like Chihuahuas and Pekingese.
#8 - I hate it when ppl bring their pets with them to public places like malls, shops and restaurants. Pets are not meant to be treated on par with humans and are to be kept at home. Ppl who bring their dogs in small dogs put themselves to be the animals servants and have no consideration to others. The only few public places a pet should be is a park, vet, beach or being walked along the road. ~.~
#9 - I like to just sit down and watch life go by. It’s interesting what one can observe by just doing that. Some observations are just downright hilarious. :lol:
#10 - I don’t read girly magazines. By girly magazines I don’t mean Penthouse or Playboy! I mean magazines like Marie Claire and Cleo. I prefer reading other things which have more substance.
~~~~ END ~~~~

And that’s the end of the 10 miles. Whether you think I’m a weirdo or not after reading it, it won’t bother me coz Sticks and stones may break my bones but words cannot hurt me. ;)

Exotica?

Question…

A group of lalas drive of in a black Proton Exora (lousy Msian edition of the refrigerator car). Does that mean that:

A. They’re a group of exotic lalas

B. The car is their getaway lala mobile

:lol: This is relating to something I saw ;)

On another note…

If any of you are planning to see Final Destination 4, pls don’t bother. Save your money and time to spend on something else more worthwhile. If I were to review the show using only singular words, these would be some of the terms I’d be using.

Fake, predictable, unimaginative, lousy, crappy, uncreative, unoriginal, cheap……….

I could go on and on but I shan’t waste your time. ;) Somehow shows like this attract audiences and I was a sucker as I went to watch it. I wanted to watch Orphan but the time wasn’t suitable so I opted for something else. Sigh…

This kinda makes me conclude that movies that go on a franchise are mainly for profit’s sake and 95% of them are badly produced. I mean take a look at Scary Movie and The Mummy 3. X-men was starting to turn cardboardy but luckily it still had substance as compared to some.

There used to be a time where franchise movies were produced with the same detail and quality as the principal but I guess that’s no longer as profit is more lucrative than quality. Money corrupts…

Loving Malaysia

From all my previous posts, most of you would gather that I do not really love this country very much. Well, that is true that I do not love it with the same patriotism as some would but I do still love this country for its certain unique aspects.

GASTRONOMY

Take for example, Msia has a very unique gastronomic offering where the world’s flavours come together. We have a wide selection of flavours at all times of the day. Our food is not limited to the 3-4 meals that a normal person would have. One of the requirement of being a typical Msian is being a foodie and we fulfil that requirement with glee. Com’on, Msians have gotta admit that they love their food. Msians eat across the board and are not limited to just one type of cuisine. We have never limited ourselves to one cuisine and do not think that we ever will.

POLITICS & ROYALTY

We love our government and the royal families with a a searing vengeance. LOL! That line certainly drips with much sarcasm. Ponder upon it won’t you? If we didn’t love them, why would we banter and criticise about them so often? Our country has 2 political factions being the topsy party and the turvy party. Together these 2 groups work well together to make the country topsy-turvy.

Then we have the royal families. Did you know that only Msia has a rotating ruling monarchy system? No other country has a change in the ruling royal family every 5 years. These ruling Agongs merely become a figurehead and have not made much effort in trying to better the country. The royal families like the politicians are out for their own-self. I laud the ppl who have made Perak’s royal family hell for the past months. If anyone says that Msian royalty is not as scandalous as the royal families of other countries, please reconsider your naivity.

COLOURS OF MALAYSIA

This country consists of multiple races, cultures and faiths. I hear many stories of yore where everyone was a friend to everyone regardless of creed and faith. Now we are being segregated. Democracy is only here in name only and harmony’s children have migrated to other distant lands.

What is creed but the superficial colour of our skins? What is faith but the choosing of our beliefs? We are all still human beings with the same biological make-up so what’s this nonsense that the government and politicians have created? We should not solely give them all the credit but we are also to blame. Eyes turn red with rage and jealousy when we see others doing better than ourselves. In that, it should be a learning experience to be better rather than seeking to use alternate means of attaining betterment. This country was built by everyone of us for us.

WHY I REALLY LOVE MALAYSIA

This is the constant factor as to why I really love this country. Msia sits up in the upper rankings in this and have maintained ranking effortlessly.  Every Msian enjoy this aspect of this country. There is no denial about that. If there’d be a person who doesn’t enjoy this facet then he must be a workaholic.

Merdeka

This Monday marks Msia’s 52nd year of independence. I have always loved Merdeka for it being a public holiday. No I am not very patriotic and I’m sure that there are some who share my disposition.

My question would be how many of you out there love Merdeka for Merdeka? How many love Merdeka for real patriotic reasons? As I have said before, I am not very patriotic as some could be. Don’t get me wrong as I do love this country but not in the same way Americans love their motherland USA.

Now now… Before anyone accuses me of being a traitor, hypocrite and whatever else your brain can conjure up, I am merely being honest and straightforward. Not the kind to believe in putting too many fillers and paddings. Know this about me – I am grateful that I can still live in this country, even with limited freedom, and earn my keep.

malaysia_flag

For a country who has been independent for more than half a century, it is way behind in the development and progress schedule . Msia has much potential to grow but that growth is hindered. Hindered by whom? I shall leave you to draw your own conclusions and make your own name-lists. Its like Msia has become handicapped by the hindering.

How unique is this country? What is there to market? This country has many qualities, characteristics and ‘rituals’ which exist no where else in the world. But yet, this is wrongly exploited by those who stand to gain more by the country being backward. Many with the Earth Royal Princes and non-Royal Prince status alike are migrating out of the country in pursuit of freedom and a better way of living. Don’t know what I meant in the previous sentence? Just translate the italics part into Malay.

merdeka

Why do these ppl (Earth Royals) country proudly show our Bapa Merdeka when his own ppl left him at the brink of poverty and denied him (of many things) after he stepped down. I know this for a fact. I will not bother to state how I know this. Irony emerges when our Bapa Merdeka though being let down by his own ppl (the Earth Princes), was aided by the non-royals. These were the ones he himself forgot about and disregarded during his reign.

I do hope that this country stabilises and betters itself for the sake of everyone. I would like to live as equals with everyone regardless of race, class, heritage and faith. I await that day (which may never come) till then I shall enjoy Merdeka as a gazetted holiday in the best manner a National holiday can be enjoyed. ;)

Another boycott

In this little island where I’m at, there’s another boycott going on. Actually several but another one got added to the list this week. One of the boycott tactics going on now is don’t eat at Mamak or Malay stores especially Nasi Kandar. They don’t pay their due taxes plus they support Ahmad Ismail’s racist comment.

Earlier this year it was about boycotting Mamak and Malay stores followed by not buying newspapers as they’re owned by the Federal government politician/parties. Then it was about not fuelling up at Petronas stations. Now it is about NOT fuelling up at the Shell station at Green Lane outside Gembira Parade as it is owned by that ingrate pig Ahmad Ismail.

F.Y.I.: Petronas and Shell both share the same refinery plant. So are we to boycott both?

They served Ahmad a 3 year suspension and stripped him of his rights for that period. To me they should just strip him of his rights of ever contesting or participating in the political world again. AND they should investigate him. He is as dirty as any Nasi Kandar store’s drain or rubbish bin. They were to lenient. Saddens me.

Any other boycotts coming this year? I do wonder if there will be any more added to the list. So far, this year has been quite eventful and frustrating. Its only another 4 days b4 anyone gets to see if Anwar’s September 16th plan comes to be. Personally I support the change. This will teach anyone who has been in power too long not to be complacent. I want a change and would like to see that change.

I’m frustrated and have much angst built up inside me seeing all the scandals and nonsense in the media by the Federal gov. Tired of seeing Federal gov politicians threaten us openly. I don’t think I’m the only one who feels this way.

PM Lah had it good but he really messed it up BIG TIME. He had it all but got too complacent and greedy. If history doesn’t record him down, he’d be forgotten. OR he will be remembered as one of the biggest fool of a politician in Malaysia.

Living in Malaysia is starting to become like living in game. Why? Whoever can figure out the cheat codes get to proceed onto next levels fast whereas honest players like the rest of us will just get held behind. Then u got some big fella who always threatens to turn off the power. BUT thank goodness for the option to save as we go and the memory  card. Now the cheaters are stuck as they lack skill.

Sigh… I dunno if anyone will understand my portrayal of Malaysia in the paragraph above. If you don’t then you gotta figure it out. If you do then good. C’est la vie.

Anyway, you guys have a good weekend. As for me… I’m not sure if my weekend will be filled with running over chickens or pigeons perhaps a stinkbug or 2. I can only live it to see how my weekend will unfurl. Hehehe… :D

P/S: I sound so depressing in this post. Its ok if you agree with me coz I won’t bite anyone’s head off. Wonder how I could do that in the cyberworld… Heh
