Malaysia Succumbs to Pressure

Many of you should remember the case about the Singaporean Malay model, Kartika, who was caught drinking beer. The most memorable thing about be that she was sentenced to be caned and the case has been reviewed more times than I could remember. The idiotic thing is that unnecessary persons also got involved in the case. This is such a typical case of being busybody.

It shamed me to learn that Msia has succumbed to Worldly/Political Pressure. The Judicial system of Msia is utterly useless and spineless. Why? They have decided to hand the model a Community Service sentence instead for 3 weeks. The earlier caning judgement has been overturned.

Couple of months ago, some women were caned as they were caught having extramarital sex. I do wonder why is it that the government went through all the trouble to cane those women and have it publicised BUT decided to chicken out on this case.

It does make me wonder if ‘gifts’ were given for the sentence to be changed… And if so how much and in what form? I cannot help but speculate this after all I am the Brooding Lizard. Heh…

Msia has hit another low. It seems that high profile cases usually involving a foreign person is hushed up. Or their sentence overturned or commuted with something else. Sometimes these cases go awry and do drag on for all eternity. Which cases do I refer to? Think about it.  Altantuyaa murder case, Boonsoom Boonyanit in the Adorna Land Fraud case and Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand for the Teoh Beng Hock case; just to cite a few examples.

Bottom-line is that Msia has no back-bone of its own! Other countries such as China and Singapore do carry out their sentences without succumbing to foreign pressure. So why can’t Msia? Weak and Corrupt government.

Malaysia – An Update

It’s only the 2nd week of 2010 and yet Msia is again hot in the middle of a fiasco. We’ve hit international headlines on every level for quite a while now and this year has started of with little difference.

The MACC (Malaysian Anti Corruption Committee Commission) has had its reputation as a supposed ‘neutral’ party shattered. They’re now facing murder charges for the murder of Teoh Beng Hock. Rather than fight the fair fight (but then again everything about this country isn’t fair), the MACC lodge a report against Dr. Pornthip. Dr. Pornthip is definitely more qualified than any of the bozos in this country hands down.

Then we have a flood of letters to the editor and articles which were published in the local newspaper complaining about the island state. The local newspapers were supposed to have been ‘sold’ to other parties who supposedly have no link to the previous owners who were BN, MCA, etc. But from what I see and read, the newspaper remains a tool of executing and inflicting wounds.

The stolen Jet Engines is another laughable occurrence. How can the damned MACC make us believe that only 2 persons stole a pair of jet engines! It is totally absurd. Like how these ppl say it and how I think it. A jet engine is huge and heavy, it is impossible that a businessman and an air-force personnel are able to move them undetected. Maybe these men are descendants of Hercules? The whole army is corrupt along-with the beautiful government who has Najib at the helm. The engines were stolen months ago and it took them about 4 months b4 the army decided to report the theft! Do you turn up at 9.45pm when your flight is clearly at 7.30am?! They’re supposedly to have been sold to a party in Argentina.

Then we have the latest thing which takes the cake and revolves around the word Allah. The Herald used the word Allah and was reprimanded. The court told the Roman Catholic body that they could use it; because of that the government and all the fanatics jump on the band wagon to appeal the decision. Firstly, the government is supposed to be a ‘neutral’ body as well but why are they behaving with such immaturity? Since when was a word sanctioned for only one group’s use? Islam is not the oldest religion in the world. Besides, did anyone know that Hindus and Christians have been using the word Allah way b4 Prophet Muhammad founded Islam?

Those on the bandwagon have done the outright genius thing of torching some churches. I got news that cars who had any Christian decorations like car stickers were badly vandalised in Bangsar. Only one group has put a severed cow’s head on the front of a Hindu Temple alongside the above act. Non-Malays have not gone to splash public areas and mosques with pigs blood so why are they behaving as such? It makes no sense. Plus tonight, all the mosques are holding ceramahs or public talks on the topic.

I do wonder which scapegoat will they select to take the wrap. Personally, I think that a few instigated the whole thing but the real guys will never be sacrificed as they’re too useful. Will ISA apply to these ppl? If no action is taken then it sends a message that it is alright for anyone to desecrate any place of worship.

I would certainly like some explanation as to why the top guy, Najib, used the damned slogan of 1 Malaysia. To many of us, it is not 1 Malaysia but rather 1 Malay(sia) – 1 Religion, 1 People, 1 Race. Do not forget that our last PM, Pak Lah, who’s grandfather was a CHINESE MUSLIM from Hainan Island, China. Few Malays in this country can truly claim they’re pure Malays. In truth, their lineage is one big melting pot. Why is it that this country claims itself to be a democracy and a peaceful multicultural nation BUT discriminates heavily?!

Democracy is dead in Malaysia and will be replaced by dictatorial rule. Msia is now the laughing stock of the world. Many FDIs are reluctant to come into Msia coz of the useless current BN government. They’re heading to Vietnam and even Indonesia which was once shunned but is now rising to the occasion faster than Msia is. Analysts have more confidence in the Rupiah than they do the Ringgit. This country is going to the dogs! Be prepared for a potential May 13.

Loving Malaysia

From all my previous posts, most of you would gather that I do not really love this country very much. Well, that is true that I do not love it with the same patriotism as some would but I do still love this country for its certain unique aspects.

GASTRONOMY

Take for example, Msia has a very unique gastronomic offering where the world’s flavours come together. We have a wide selection of flavours at all times of the day. Our food is not limited to the 3-4 meals that a normal person would have. One of the requirement of being a typical Msian is being a foodie and we fulfil that requirement with glee. Com’on, Msians have gotta admit that they love their food. Msians eat across the board and are not limited to just one type of cuisine. We have never limited ourselves to one cuisine and do not think that we ever will.

POLITICS & ROYALTY

We love our government and the royal families with a a searing vengeance. LOL! That line certainly drips with much sarcasm. Ponder upon it won’t you? If we didn’t love them, why would we banter and criticise about them so often? Our country has 2 political factions being the topsy party and the turvy party. Together these 2 groups work well together to make the country topsy-turvy.

Then we have the royal families. Did you know that only Msia has a rotating ruling monarchy system? No other country has a change in the ruling royal family every 5 years. These ruling Agongs merely become a figurehead and have not made much effort in trying to better the country. The royal families like the politicians are out for their own-self. I laud the ppl who have made Perak’s royal family hell for the past months. If anyone says that Msian royalty is not as scandalous as the royal families of other countries, please reconsider your naivity.

COLOURS OF MALAYSIA

This country consists of multiple races, cultures and faiths. I hear many stories of yore where everyone was a friend to everyone regardless of creed and faith. Now we are being segregated. Democracy is only here in name only and harmony’s children have migrated to other distant lands.

What is creed but the superficial colour of our skins? What is faith but the choosing of our beliefs? We are all still human beings with the same biological make-up so what’s this nonsense that the government and politicians have created? We should not solely give them all the credit but we are also to blame. Eyes turn red with rage and jealousy when we see others doing better than ourselves. In that, it should be a learning experience to be better rather than seeking to use alternate means of attaining betterment. This country was built by everyone of us for us.

WHY I REALLY LOVE MALAYSIA

This is the constant factor as to why I really love this country. Msia sits up in the upper rankings in this and have maintained ranking effortlessly.  Every Msian enjoy this aspect of this country. There is no denial about that. If there’d be a person who doesn’t enjoy this facet then he must be a workaholic.

FIC out the window

There have been news thru the grapevine that Naj was gonna do away with the FIC and Bumi qouta since b4 him taking office. Now it has become reality. Everything is still fresh and new but I am keen to know how does this abolishment benefit his ppl and the Bumis… I guess I gotta wait for a couple of days for things to be clearer.

I feel that the new ‘laws’ will have loopholes which will take the place of the old FIC laws. Naj won’t just do away with something, which was put in place during his father’s time, just like that. There is a bigger rhyme and reason to this all. We all just want to know what it is and if there are more than one reason/conspiracy.

If this was done with all the good intention in the world, Naj should also do away with the AP law and high tax rates for cars and other motorvehicles. This way the vehicle market will be more competitive and many budget conscious ppl won’t have to always pick Msian vehicles like Proton.

I wish… #05

I wish the Msian Federal government will stop treating Penang like it is full of disease. We are not a garbage can for u to consider using when u dunno what to do with your excesses! Do not treat us like a leper colony and shun us when we need help and aid!

Everything that is under the Federal jurisdiction is crying out for funding! Your neglect is intentional! Should look for 2 big potholes, one to dump Koh Tsu Khoon in and the other is S. Subramaniam (HR minister). They’re both useless and taking up valuable space esp the inept of a HR minister who talks about nothing except 2 issues incessantly

1. For Indians get better work conditions. Asking them not to work in estates but in town. Why? Coz work conditions are better. He doesn’t understand that a rubber tapper is able to earn equal or more to an executive’s monthly salary. And the tapper needs to put in only about 1/2 a days work daily. When his work is finished, it is finished and he doesn’t have to be on call for anything unlike execs who may have to work after hours and late.

2. For employers to lessen foreign labour in their workforce. Who is gonna do all the jobs that other Msians do not wanna do? Maybe should get the ministers to clear the garbage, sweep the streets, do construction, wait tables, etc. Sure we wanna protect the locals but locals are choosy in their jobs. They always wanna save face and these menial jobs are too good for them!
